Public Transport Options

Picture
There are many ways to get around in the city of Newcastle. Walking and cycling are among the most popular, however, there is also a free city bus service that operates within the city centre.  Newcastle Buses website is a great option for looking at what is running closest to you.  Please visit http://www.newcastlebuses.info/

There are other ways to commute to the city via public transport.  To plan your trip, please visit http://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/tripplanner/index.html

Car Parking Options

Picture
Carparking options in the city are available via paid on street parking (metered parking) or the safer option is to use the managed carparks, such as King Street Car Park http://www.huntercarparks.com.au/ through Hunter Parking and Storage.  The car park operates between 5am and 8pm Mon-Thur and 5am-midnight Fri-Sun.  Fees and other information can be found at the above link.

The car park above is about a 5 minute walk from the Newcastle City Hall.

Local Taxi Services

Newcastle Taxis operate in the greater Newcastle area 24 hours a day. Book a taxi anytime by phoning 133 300 or for those with speech or hearing difficulties use the fax booking service on 02 4940 5910. - See more at: http://www.newcastletaxis.com.au/index.htm
